About

  • MTG Sale/Trade with Stordimento (and other individual high-volume sellers and traders)

Or “Why is this guy so organized/annoying/ocd/adhd/etc”

While I’m in the midst of writing the application to make life easier to do simple in person trades with me (and others as I’m writing the site so anyone can create an account and use it) – I figured I’d put some info here rather than spamming Discord with a block of text as well as provide the “why” so many of you ask for. You’re here because you likely saw my post and want to buy some MTG singles. We will get to that, and the link but please read on.

    First some Q&A

    • Q: I only want to buy a couple cards, do I haaaaave to use this format thing?
    • A: No, for anything under five or so cards its fine just to send me the card name (spelled correctly including punctuation!) as long as you don’t care what set, what foil type or what price (since they vary with foil, etc). If you do this and I pull a $30 card but you wanted the 1$ version, you can’t be sad. Deal?
    • Q: Why do you mostly sell but do not often trade?
    • A: I normally only trade when I’m deck building and don’t have things I really want already. I also have two partners who play and between us we normally have what we are looking for. I do trade several times a year when I’m building new decks.
    • Q: Why do you only take Venmo?
A: Ah this is a popular one. I used to take cash, Zelle and Paypal. Paypal is just a mess. Zelle was fine until they held quite a bit of funds for possible “fraud” which annoyed me and cash is a pain. Venmo is quick, easy and most people have it. It also allows me to more easily track sales in a single place.
    • Q: Why do you need my list a “certain way”
    • A: First, it’s not “my way”. Its the accepted way most large sites and apps like ManaBox, MoxField, etc, accept imported card data. When someone just sends me a list of card names (sometimes misspelled!), I have no idea… how many they want or if they wanted one from a certain set, or if they want foil, etched or normal. For a single card, I might have 20 versions from different sets, foil types, etc. You might have wanted the .50 cent version but I pulled the $40 version and now you’re sad and don’t want it. So, listing the quantity, set, card number and foil style on a line is a guarantee of getting exactly what you want. While its easy to hand write a list in this format once you’re used to it, it is also easy to start your own list of what you want from me in Manabox, Moxfield, Archidekt, etc with all the info and then export it to a file and send it to me in Discord.

I also have a job, life, etc and so going back and forth 20 times to make sure I understand what someone wants is very time consuming. I often get requests for 100 – 300 cards in a week from ten different discords, Facebook channels, etc so all of this organization comes down to time.

While my sell/trade binder is 5k – 8k in cards, my full catalog is five times that. Everything is sorted and stored so looking for a card by set and number is very fast. When you send me a list, I import it into my library here at home and I know exactly where a card can be found. Then, when the trade or sale happens, I can remove it from my library and update the online binder everyone looks at currently on Moxfield.
    • Q: Is every card in your binder available?
    • A: Yes! With minor exceptions. The only real case is if someone requested it before you did. I do sales in the order they come into my Discord DMs. So if there is one Smothering Tithe and Bobby already got it on his list then he gets it but it will still show in the binder until the actual exchange of cards and/or funds happens. This can also happen between updates but I will always let you know if something isn’t available.
    • Q: Ok, thats still annoying but I get it. How should I get my list to you?
    • A: Lets get to that below and if you have any other questions please reach out on Discord!

Trading/Selling and that annoying format thing.

Lets use two of my favorite cards as an example.

In our example, Smothering Tithe is non-foil and Hauntwoods is foil and you just want one of each. So your list would look like this:

1 Overlord of the Hauntwoods (DSK) 405 *F*
    1 Smothering Tithe (WOT) 13

You’ll notice you don’t need to include the preceding zeros in the card number. The “F” is as you likely guessed for “Foil” but it can be blank (for non-foil) as seen in the Smothering Tithe or, it can be “*E*” for Etched. The set ID does need to be in (). This format is importable almost anywhere. ManaBox, Archidekt, MoxField, etc.

That is really about it. And again, if you don’t want to hand write this and want to be sure you get the weird spellings right (because I suck at typing too), you can just bring up mine or anyones online trade binder on one half of your screen and your new list on another website like MoxField or Archidekt and fill your list, export as text and shoot it over on Discord. You could also have the binder up online and use an app like ManaBox to create your list.

So where is the link to your binder!?

Here you go. This URL doesn’t change so you can bookmark it. Once I move things to the website I mentioned writing I’ll make sure to post it.
